In CADmep we used the command SL1 to isolate a service. Revit does not have a good isolation command so I wrote one using Dynamo, below is a link to download the script.

Autodesk has chosen not to support some of the Fabrication CID patterns in Revit, one of those patterns is 928. Watch the video to see a work around to get your converted items into Revit.

From a Database Administrator standpoint it is a common occurrence that when logging into the program to receive the error below... Then begins the pain staking process of clicking through a bunch of folders to delete the .lok file. If this were a rare occurrence this may not be that big a deal, but as an Admin we tend to push CAD to the limits until it crashes leaving us with a locked database.  Make the process of deleting the .lok easy and pain free! Copy the below code into Notepad, change the path to locate your specific database location, save onto your desktop and change the extension to .cmd. Then the next time this happens, leave the error open in CAD, double click the .cmd file, then hit Retry. Quite an outrageous title huh? The SysQue approach is traditional .rfa and the Autodesk approach are .itm which was developed specifically for fabricators. This is not about which program is better, or whether .itm files being in Revit is an abomination to traditional Revit design. We all use the tools we are provided, at the end of the day we all just want to do our jobs the best we know how, get paid, go home and someday retire! So why should SysQue consumers want Fabrication .itm files to successfully be introduced to Revit? The simple concept of competition. Competition drives innovation, it drives price, and it drives failures. The SysQue product is the only product I am aware of that seeks to accomplish LOD 400 standards for fabrication ready components in the Revit environment. Ever get fed up with connector breakpoints and what each line actually controls? Check out the diagram below with an explanation of each rectangular break-point line, and what they are actually doing. The following setup is for a rectangular connector using the "Coupling Plate" end draw type.   Gasket- This value physically separates two connected items  Horizontal Inset- Will inset the connector on the horizontal plane by the value input here. If 4 is input, 2 from each side will be removed.   Length- Determines how far the connector extends back into or away from the duct. This value can also be used to simulate Slip Joints. A positive number input here will extend the connector away from the duct. A negative value will bring the connector into the duct. Thickness- This line can be used to raise the connector away from the duct body. This is useful when Shading or rendering to get proper separation between Duct and connector faces.
