With the availability of Plant 3d 2021, here’s a short summary of the features we are looking forward into digging into (you know being the #bestplant3dreseller and all). We’re building a list of stuff we’re checking out; drop us a line if there is something you want us to investigate.

  1. Insulation on Orthographics – which happens to also include transparent insulation in the model, so it will be nice to see that transfer over to Navisworks and BIM 360.
  2. PCF per drawing file – looks like there is some isoconfig.xml tweaking in this one, but the feature targets fabricators looking to import pcf files.
  3. Bug Fixes – We are counting about 40+ bugs that have gotten addressed. Early testing show big improvements on the cut piece lists. I believe this is about the 4th release in a row with that number of bug fixes, so it represents serious commitment from Autodesk.

Autodesk has put together a nice little video showing some of the new features.
