With enhancements for instant teamwork in remote collaboration, the five highlights of Bluebeam Revu 20.1 are as follows:
- Markup Enhancements
A visual indicator will now appear on markups that have replies in the Markups list. Users can be made aware of comments that require their attention. Clicking on the markup icon will also take users directly to the replies in the Markups list. Hovering over the icon shows a preview of the reply.
In addition, users can now select a page range and quickly apply their markups. This eliminates the time-consuming need to manually copy and paste a markup to multiple pages one at a time.
Benefits for your workflow:
- Improves efficiency.
- Saves time.
- Eases communications.
- Maintains accountability.
All Revu users will appreciate these enhancements, especially those who will benefit from visual icons/markers to enhance communications about markups.
2. Real-Time Measurements
As users place measurements, the measurement values are shown in real time in a tool-tip-style table in the lower corner of the drawing. Real-time measurement values are now available for angle, circumference, count, perimeter, radius, and volume.
Benefits for your workflow:
- Reduces rework.
- Increases productivity.
- Improves accuracy of estimates.
Estimators, especially, will appreciate this improved ability to view measurement values in real time.
3. Improved SharePoint Integration
The new and improved integration with Microsoft SharePoint enables construction industry professionals to safely authenticate Revu and open documents stored in a SharePoint folder from any browser.
Benefits for your workflow:
- Enables using Revu with SharePoint documents.
- Saves more time
- Improves productivity.
- Enhances security and administration.
This new integration is ideal for larger companies and complex projects with teams collaborating on many documents.
4. Studio Improvements
Studio administrators are now able to securely reassign ownership of markups when a collaborator leaves a Studio session permanently.
New markup owners will be alerted by email of their new status. Ownership changes will be noted in the Session record and included in summaries and reports.
Benefits for your workflow:
- Improves productivity.
- Saves time.
- Reduces confusion.
- Improves security.
- Enhances accountability.
These improvements are helpful so users can continue working in a project and make a smooth transition when collaborators leave.
5. New Plugins
- SolidWorks – Revu 20.1 includes added support for SolidWorks 2021.
- Microsoft Word – PDFs generated using the Batch PDF function in the Word plugin can automatically generate bookmarks based on names of files in the batch.
- Autodesk AutoCAD – Bookmark configurations can be saved in the AutoCAD plugin.
