Bluebeam Studio Projects: Maintain & Update a Sheet Set

In the most recent installment of the Bluebeam Studio Projects virtual series, guest presenter Brian Patty discussed the benefits of using Bluebeam Studio and, more specifically, how to maintain and update a sheet set within the program.

You can view the virtual event recording on-demand.

“We use these Studio projects to have globally accessible… information, multiple file types and maximum collaboration with audit ability,” Patty said. Changes have continued to be made to Bluebeam Studio that allow for different views, permissions and organization. “We’re going to go through a couple advanced features… where we’re going to look at doing batch slip sheeting. We’re also going to look at how running a session inside a project works.”

Patty went on to view sheets within a specific project and demonstrate revised sheets. “It reads everything that’s in [your] folder,” he said. “You can see, everything that it understands is there.”

Continuing the demonstration, he explained: “The revised sheets would be the new sheets that you have recently printed. You can go with files or folders or sub folders as well. [I’ll] get another folder off our local drive and not the project itself. You have the ability here to match by several different items. You can also use the page labels. Sometimes this can be a bit manual. You have the option to replace current sheets with revised sheets or insert before them as the current pages [and] flatten everything if you don’t want people to be able to touch things. But something that’s not an issue can be left unchecked and will copy in markups.”

He added, “This can be particularly useful if you have additional redlines. [It] goes through and checks out each sheet individually much faster than you can do by hand — going through copying the markups, putting a new sheet, everything like that. You can ask it to produce a report, or you can skip these things.”
