Every company has challenges and operational performance gaps that need to be addressed to streamline performance on jobs and capitalize on business growth prospects. If your company is new to building information modeling (BIM), integrating the BIM process may be your challenge.
Some companies benefit greatly from a jump-start on their BIM coordination, and an efficient way to accomplish that is by enlisting the partnership of professional BIM management services.
Applied Software will partner with you for your company’s BIM coordination. Contact Applied Software today and find out how the BIM experts of Applied will help your team establish a BIM process that runs like a well-oiled machine.
Applied Software BIM Coordination is a bundle of basic services focused on jump starting a company new to BIM coordination using Navisworks Manage and/or BIM 360 Glue.
The service includes:
- Instruction in model data extraction.
- Navisworks Manage, BIM 360 Model Coordination and/or BIM 360 Glue basic training.
- Training on Search Sets, Appearance Profiler and the Clash Detection workflow.
- Weekly coordination meetings conducted or shadowed by Applied.

The Applied BIM Coordination service is intended to be used on a pilot project. At the conclusion, you will have a team of BIM coordination professionals with experience they can use on future projects. In addition, your team will have a set of templates to use on future projects. Consulting hours are budgeted for use on the pilot project to coach and mentor the team and ensure successful BIM coordination on current and future projects.
BIM 360 Product Overview and Information Gathering
For construction of the U.S. Olympic Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Autodesk customer, GE Johnson, is the construction manager and general contractor for the museum. GE Johnson uses BIM 360, as well as Revit to visualize projects with 3D modeling and Navisworks to schedule and coordinate subcontractors. Bringing the ambitious design to life required relying on laser scanning to ensure absolute precision.
BIM 360 product overview training will also be conducted for up to 12 end users and project administrators.
BIM Execution Plan
The information gathered will be used to inform creation of a BIM execution plan (BEP) based on your organization and project needs. The BEP will provide a planning framework to help your teams define, manage and deploy BIM technology on projects. It will include important project information, define the BIM process, determine a BIM coordination strategy and schedule, and determine model naming and organization strategies.

Applied will determine the project and level of detail (LOD) requirements, assess project team capabilities and weaknesses, and customize the BEP as needed. Applied will also assess the workflow tools that will best accomplish the goals and milestones at hand – Navisworks Manage, BIM 360 Glue or a combination.
Applied will help you determine who will ultimately manage the BIM coordination. The options are:
Revit Model Data Extraction and Basic Training
Proficiency as a BIM coordinator begins with the ability to extract data effectively from Autodesk Revit. Students will learn how to slice up the model, review visibility and graphics overrides, change the detail level, create new 3D views, and export files using shared coordinates. You can choose to use a sample set of data for the class or a current project with “Just in Time” training – learning to use the software on a live project.
Following Revit data extraction training, your team will learn how to use Navisworks Manage, BIM 360 Model Coordination and/or BIM 360 Glue. Project teams utilizing Navisworks will also create template files that can be reused on future projects.
Clash Detection Workflow Training
Applied will teach the clash detection workflow and coordination to the project team and designated BIM champion using Navisworks Manage and/or BIM 360 Glue.

BIM Coordination
Applied will work with the designated BIM champion to build confidence in the clash detection workflow through training, repetition, delegation, and mentoring.
If your company does not have or is unable to designate a BIM champion, you have the option to designate Applied to provide BIM coordination services directly.
BIM Coordination Services Remote Support and Mentoring
Applied Software will provide ongoing remote support and mentoring for project team members and administrators as needed for 60 days after commencement of training. Support includes assistance with day to day use and maintenance of BIM coordination and accounts, user management and working with Autodesk to resolve account issues.
After you address your BIM coordination challenges, you’ll be ready to capitalize on your business growth prospects.
If one of the inefficiencies in your company is BIM coordination, partner with Applied Software to operate more efficiently and be prepared for more work when opportunity comes to call.
