Work From Home With Bluebeam Revu

The StrXur article, How to Work from Home with Revu, brings up the topic of the day: working from home. Many people across the world plan are doing their job remotely for the foreseeable future.  We’re living in an unprecedented time, and we’re dealing with new and old projects without the option of speaking face-to-face with someone about it. It can be a challenge, but not one that can’t be overcome. It can be much easier and less time-consuming if you have the preparation and tools that you need.

Thanks to the tools that are offered through Bluebeam Revu, it’s a bit easier to undertake the task of working from home. You’ll just need to take some simple steps in order to make the transition from office to home: you’ll back up Revu and restore its settings, download and install it onto your home computer, register your home computer, and take advantage of Studio Projects and Sessions. To watch a video on getting started with Revu, click here.

First, the StrXur article mentions that in order to access and use Revu on your home computer, you’ll want to “retain the same tool sets and profile you use at work.” You’ll just need to back up your settings in Revu and restore them on your home computer. Also, don’t forget to save your backup file to a portable device or upload it to a location you can access from your new computer.

If you plan to download Revu 2018 or below on your home computer, make sure you download the version that’s specific to your serial number and product key. Licenses will not transfer between different versions of Revu (for example, Revu 2018 Standard and Revu 2018 eXtreme). If you don’t have access to the licensing information specific to your copy of Revu, you can download a personal free 30-day trial. This free trial will give you access to all of Revu’s features for a full 30 days, and you will be able to import all of your toolsets and profiles during that time.

If you are on a Perpetual or Enterprise License on your work computer, the article suggests unregistering that computer before using another computer outside the office. Doing so will ensure that you retain enough seats under your firm’s license.

Using Revu through Studio will allow you to keep working on your projects even when you’re offline. Once your home computer is registered with a Revu license, you’ll be able to access your projects through the Cloud. In addition, you can continue collaborating with your project teams in real-time through Studio Sessions.

If you’d like to explore first-hand the ways Bluebeam Revu can make working from home easier and less time consuming, try it for yourself with the free 30-day trial. When it’s time to convert your 30-day trial to a subscription or perpetual license, contact Applied Software and talk to a Bluebeam expert about your specific needs. Applied will empower you to transform your work processes.
